Meine schönen leute! How are you all?
It’s been such a beautiful weekend! A few of my Brazilian friends decided to have a picnic in Boultham park, a beautiful place with a beautiful lake and we had a great time. So I’ve come home to Peterborough mainly to revise without distractions (get my washing done) and say hello to the family. I had no idea what to write about today, so I asked my friend Charlie, and he suggested breakfast.
People have always said to me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But does anyone actually know if that’s true? Personally I love breakfast and absolutely hate skipping it, I get this weird belly ache an hour later if I do… I’m also one of those weirdos who can eat absolutely anything for breakfast. Leftover spaghetti from yesterday? Fuck me up fam.
As it turns out, it probably is the most important meal of the day. Remember my previous post about fasting? Overnight whilst you sleep your body enters a fast, and when you wake up you’re meant to break that fast. Get it? Break-fast! When you do this, you kick start lots of chemical mechanisms in your body that start your metabolic processes and prepare you for the day! I also read that people who regularly skip breakfast tend to have lower levels of concentration and cognitive function than those who always eat breakfast.
I’ll leave you with these touching words from my friend Arden…
“Umm breakfast is nice, I like eggs”.
